In the context of intensifying globalization and urbanization, the threat caused by public health emergencies such as Ebola, Zika, Yellow Fever and Cholera is forcing the international community to reconsider how we intervene in such problematic situations.
In concert with the 2016 Outbreak Intervention Symposium, experts in the field of infectious disease control were interviewed, sharing their insight into some of the past decade’s most tragic disease outbreaks. These in-depth discussions covered the West African Ebola Outbreak of 2015-16, the following Zika outbreak, as well as the search for “optimal response” in a rapidly changing global context.
